15 Minute Blast

Today's exercise tip is 15 minutes of high intensity exercise 3 to 4 times a week.  Thirty seconds of high intensity exercise, like running hard on an elliptical machine between levels 10-12, followed by 1.5 minutes of rest at a lower intensity level, for at least five cycles will activate your musculature in a way you haven't seen before.

This style of exercise causes our bodies to work at a much higher rate which will tear more muscle fibers leading to muscle growth, leading to higher calories burned on a daily basis.  Also, since you are activating muscle tissue, your cardiovascular system (heart) will be heavily activated which gives you the "cardio" component of the workout.

Have fun and try adding some high intensity sessions to your weekly workout schedule!
